What is the purpose of this questionnaire?

This is an exploratory questionnaire to gather feedback on the usability and functionality of the xiVIEW visualisation software.

Who is behind the questionnaire?

We are Martin Graham / Colin Combe - researchers in the Rappsilber Lab, Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell Biology (WTCCB) at Edinburgh University.

What will participating in this questionnaire involve?

The questionnaire consists of answering a standard scale-based usability questionnaire followed by five open-ended and two yes/no questions. It should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

What will happen to any personal information I give?

We don’t need to know any personal details, so none will be collected.

What will be done with the results of the questionnaire?

The scale-based questionnaire results will be used to compare xiView to other web-based interfaces to judge where it is under or over-performing at present. The responses to the open-ended questions will be used a source of data to justify further extensions and research to the xiVIEW software.

What are the possible benefits of taking part?

Helping us improve xiVIEW will make it both more powerful and easier to use, and if you have cross-linking experiment data you will benefit directly from this.

Are there any risks?

No, there are no risks in completing this questionnaire.
